Former Sri Lankan International Cricketer, Mr Muthumalige Pushpakumara appointed as the national coach of Kuwait

Former Sri Lankan International Cricketer, Mr Muthumalige Pushpakumara appointed as the national coach of Kuwait by the Kuwait Cricket Board.

Pushpakumara joined the ongoing senior men's camp in the 1st week of May and is excited about the upcoming challenge of ICC - International Cricket Council T-20 World Cup Qualifiers scheduled to take place in Singapore (July 20th - 29th).

Pushpakumara is being assisted by local senior coach Ghayour Ahmed and trainer Shehan Shashika.

The ongoing camp is focusing on the top 26 men of Kuwait Cricket in terms of eligibility, domestic & international performance, experience, talent, attitude and overall fitness.

A final squad of 18 players - 14 + 4 reserves is expected to be announced anytime over the next ten days.

Once the 18 is finalized, Kuwait Cricket Board for the first time ever, will be providing a daily practice allowance of 20$ as an incentive as well as appreciation and encouragement to the men's squad for having qualified for the ICC Division 1 T20 World Cup Qualifiers in Singapore.

Mr. Pushpakumara will also focus on the development of Women's Cricket team (post ramadan) with a long term strategy in mind as well as the U-19 boys gearing up to participate in the Asian Cricket Council u19 #Asia #Cup.
