KC Domestic Tournaments - 4th week, Dec 2016

KC T20 Premier League 2016

                 Mahaas CC thrashed Safety plus by 71 runs with the help of a fantastic century by Usman Gani. Usman was at his brilliant best and scored 104 off 53 balls with the help of 5 boundaries and 9 sixes. His innings was instrumental in helping Mahaas to reach a huge total of 231/7 in 20 overs. Adnan Idris also contributed with a quick fire 23 from 11 to accelerate the innings. Safety plus could only manage 160 runs in return. Usman Gani was adjudged as the Man of the match for his brilliant performance. The result helped Mahaas to reach first position though they played 2 matches more than Petrofac. 

                  Desert Knights maintained their unbeaten run by defeating United Elevators Kuwait by 5 wickets in a division 2 encounter. It was United Elevators who won the toss and they decided to bat first. As a result of some excellent disciplined bowling and brilliance from Jijo Stellus, who took 4 wickets for just 12 runs with a maiden under his belt, succeeded in restricting United Elevators to 138/9 in 20 overs. Desert Knights chased down the target in 17.2 overs with relatively easy due to a swashbuckling innings by hardhitting opener Adnan Khan. Jijo Stellus was chosen as the man of the match. 

KC T20 Desert Championship   

                  Future Stars CC won against Safety plus Dashers by 6 wickets at Hateen. After winning the toss Future Stars asked Safety plus to bat and followed it with some good tight discplined bowling. Bilal Khan, the 18 year old youngster was really sharp and he took crucial wickets and was well supported by the whole team. Safetyplus managed to post 147 runs on the board which is a bit less when compared to Division A Standards. Future Stars chased down the total in 19 overs by the loss of 4 wickets. Muhammed Ghulam top scored with a fine well controlled 56. Bilal Khan also contributed with bat with a 32 and for his fine all round performance Bilal was chosen as the man of the match.      

                  Black Mambaz CC maintained their winning momentum by defeating last year's finalists Q8 falcons by 6 wickets at Jleeb to maintain their top spot in their respective division. Having won the toss, Q8 falcons chose to bat first and with the help of inform batsman Nazeer Salim and experienced campaigner Muhammed Rasheed, they posted a challenging total of 170/6 in the alloted overs. Black Mambaz in reply were never looked in trouble and with Ismail Vadakkekolayath's unbeaten 53, they chased down the total in 17.2 overs. Ismail was selected as the Man of the match.
